Giving Up
This pun works better in Dutch…
Giving up is not in our dictionary. Signing up however is possible, by filling out the form below. If you have any questions, you can send an email to secretaris@nsrv-obelix.nl.
1. Sports Card
To become a member of Obelix, you need an RU/HAN sports card. This gives you access to all sports facilities of the Radboud Sports Center, including our training field and the fitness center.
More information can be found on the Radboud Sports Center website.
2. Membership
Additionally, as a member of Obelix you pay an annual membership fee to the club for all club-specific matters. The membership fee is €120 and is charged in two installments of €60.
As a first-year member, you only pay one installment of €60.
Through work activities (such as giving clinics) you can get a discount on your membership fee!
3. Players card
To play in matches you need a player card from Rugby Nederland, which is requested through Obelix (when you’re ready for this). This allows you to play competitive matches (with coverage from collective accident insurance).
A full player card for one season costs €78. A recreational card costs €40 which allows you to play six matches in one season.
As a new member
Became a member? Welcome! The secretary of our club, and/or the captain/manager of the women’s or men’s team will contact you and make sure you’re added to the WhatsApp groups. In your first year (as a Young Dog) you will learn a lot about the basics of rugby. Even if you’ve completed the Young Dogs course, the real work is only just beginning. Show up as much as possible to our training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and especially stick around after showering for a drink in the sports café. That’s the best way to get to know everyone.
Also block all Sundays in your calendar, because Sunday’s for the boys (or girls)! In consultation with the TC (technical committee: the captains and coach of the team) we’ll gradually assess when you’re fit enough to make your first match minutes. But until then, you’re still more than welcome on match days as support or water carrier.
